For Faculty

Application Deadline: 17 November 2023

Apply for a SEAC Publishing Grant

SEAC will award approximately five grants of up to $1,000 each to support faculty publishing related to Southeast Asia and Southeast Asians (including in the diaspora). Expenses covered may include, for instance, in-person or hybrid book, article, or book-proposal workshops; translation costs; publishing subventions; or open-access fees. Recipients must be faculty (tenure-track or otherwise) or affiliated researchers at a SUNY or CUNY institution at the time of the publication-related work in question. Funds should be expended by Summer 2024 (though extensions may be possible). We will have a second call for applications in the Spring.

Selection will be by a panel of SUNY and CUNY faculty.

To apply for a publishing grant, submit the following here:

1- Proposal (1-3 pages), including the current status of the project in question and how this award will help with publication

2- Budget, explaining any non-obvious expenses

  • List other funding for which you have applied (or can access) or will apply for publishing-related expenses (not including research-only grants along the way)

3- Current CV

Application deadline: Friday, 17 November 2023
